About Vaulra
Most budget apps are built for one person. Sharing is an afterthought. Vaulra is different. It is a personal and shared budget tracking system built on the envelope method — designed for individuals who want spending clarity and households who want to manage money together without giving up privacy.
The problem
When you share finances with a partner, a family member, or a housemate, you face a choice: share everything or share nothing. There is no middle ground. No way to say “share the grocery budget split but keep my personal spending private.” No way to give someone view-only access to certain categories while letting them add expenses to others.
People end up using spreadsheets, Splitwise for after-the-fact splitting, or they just avoid the conversation entirely.
Who Vaulra is for
Individuals
Track personal spending with envelope budgeting. See where your money goes each month.
Couples
Shared budgets with full visibility or private splits — your choice.
Families
Manage household expenses together with per-member visibility controls.
Roommates
Split shared costs without exposing income.
Irregular income
Plan month by month, even with irregular income.
How it works
You define a set of budget splits once. That structure carries forward to each new month automatically. Income is recorded, allocations are calculated, expenses are tracked against each split.
When finances are shared, each member sees what the budget owner has made visible to them. Data outside their configured visibility is designed to remain inaccessible.
Privacy and trust
Your bank statements are processed entirely in your browser. No file data is ever uploaded to our servers. Vaulra uses Firebase for authentication and data storage — your budget data is yours.
